RUSHFORD, MN - Audery J. Johnson, 75, of rural Rushford, died on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI.
Audery Jean Halvorson was born on June 17, 1940, to Arthur and Thora (Grinde) Halvorson in Money Creek Township of Houston County, MN. She was raised on Vinegar Hill, east of Rushford, and graduated from Rushford High School in 1958. on March 28, 1959, Audery was united in marriage with Joel Johnson at Rushford Lutheran Church. She lived in the Rushford area all her life and contributed in many ways on the family farm and with her husband's construction business. She was a member of Rushford Lutheran Church where she had been President of the circle, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. In her spare time, Audery enjoyed sewing, embroidery, and gardening.
She is survived by her husband Joel; three children: Debbie (Tom) Butterfield of Rushford, Jeff (Wendy) Johnson of Winona, MN, and Craig Johnson of Rushford; five grandchildren: Bill, Stevie, Brian, Haley and Cameron; six great-grandchildren: Addy, Nolan, Mikala, Parker, Skylar and Quinn; and by one sister, Shirley Klinski of Plum City, WI.
Audery was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Norman Halvorson.
There will be a funeral service for Audery at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016, at Rushford Lutheran Church with the Reverend Roger Michaelson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
