Arvid B. Kjos, 89 died Thursday, December 23, 2004 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. He was born March 2, 1915 to Martin O. and Adeline (Reishus) Kjos in LaCrosse, WI. He graduated from Rushford High School in 1934. Arvid married Selma Humble November 10, 1937 at Highland Prairie Lutheran Church. He was a life-long resident and farmer of the North Prairie area in rural Peterson. He was a member of North Prairie Lutheran Church and its Men's Club; he also served on the church cemetery board. Arvid was a member of the Rushford Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years, and served on the board of directors for Farmers Cooperative Elevator of Rushford. He sang with the Winona Barbershop Chorus for many years, and was a member of the "Notebenders" barbershop quartet. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and many friends. He is survived by one sister, Ruth Howard, Granite Falls, MN, a son-in-law Roger Hegland, Peterson, MN. He is also survived by three grandsons: Brian (Sandra) Hegland, Bakersfield, CA, Darin (Nancy) Hegland, Northfield, MN, Martin (Shari) Hegland, Holmen, WI. He is survived by two great grandchildren Bradee Hegland and Ryan Hegland. Arvid was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Selma, a daughter Elizabeth, four brothers Emmons, Goodwin, Martin, and Luther. He was also preceded in death by infant twin great grandchildren Katherine and Daniel Hegland. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at North Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Lanesboro. Rev. David Watson will be the officiant. Visitation will be 6?8 p.m. Monday, December 27, at Hoff Funeral Homes-Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church. There will be a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in North Prairie Lutheran Cemetery
