Arthur “Everett” Johnson was born on February 16, 1932 to Arthur Johnson and Minnie Hungerholt of Lanesboro, Minnesota. He attended school through the 8th grade. On June 25, 1955 he married Betty Dianne Sorum.
Everett enjoyed being a farmer of corn, beans, and hay fields, milked cows, had pigs, chickens, horses, dogs, and cats. He logged walnut trees and did custom combining for other farmers. He worked for the City of Lanesboro in maintenance for 20 years.
Everett loved joking with everyone, enjoyed singing and playing guitar with the Whitewater Melody Men in his younger years, he enjoyed playing cards and shooting pool with friends, coon hunting, gopher trapping, and fishing.
Everett made his journey to heaven on April 24, 2023 at Harmony Place in Harmony, MN. He was 91 years old.
Everett is lovingly survived by his 7 children: Delinda and her husband Roger Wigner, Judy and her husband Rich Wilhelm, Randi and her husband Jim Stier, Darin and his wife Betty Johnson, Becky Johnson, Lolly and her husband Jim Melander, and Ardie and his wife Ellen Johnson; and his grandchildren: Jamie and her husband Mark Smith, Laura and her husband Josh Studer, Kimberly Willich and Jason Feuerbach, Jake Kryzer and his wife Missy, Ben Kryzer, Steve Stier, Jason Stier, Josh and his wife Renee Johnson, Jessica and her husband Dillon Burt, John and his wife Brittainy Johnson, Matt and his wife Mandy Peterson, Tyler Peterson, Trent and his wife JoJo Peterson, Tommy and his wife Alicia Moen, Alexis and her husband Matt Kayser, and Garrett Melander, as well as his great or step grandchildren: Lyndi Smith, Myla Smith, Wesley Studer, Levi Studer, Hailee Willich, Maddax Feuerbach, Leighton Feuerbach, baby girl Feuerbach, William Moser, Kagon Moser, Adelynn Johnson, Ayla Johnson, Claire Johnson, Hillary Burt, Hoyt Burt, Harper Burt, Tommy Johnson, Sommer Johnson, Wesley Howard, WhiLa Peterson, River Moen, and Luke Kayser; siblings, Arlan Johnson, Lavina Sveen, and Darlene Hanson.
Everett is preceded in death by his wife Betty, his parents Arthur and Minnie Johnson, sisters Verna Pope, Inez Hogie, Muriel Holland, and Minerva Reimann; a son Doyle, and two great-grandsons Carson and Carter, and all nieces, nephews, and cousins whom we may have forgotten.
Funeral service for Everett will be 11 A.M. on Friday, April 28, 2023, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, in Lanesboro with Pastor Kerry Eversole officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in the Lanesboro Cemetery following the service.
