RUSHFORD, MN - Arthur O. Brown, 82, of Rushford, MN died on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford.
Arthur Oliver Brown was born on April 10, 1936, in Peterson, MN to Arthur and Myrtle (Agrimson) Brown. He was raised at Big Spring and North Prairie in rural Peterson. He attended Wraalstad Country School through 8th grade and was a 1954 graduate of Peterson High School. On October 13, 1956, Art was united in marriage with Jeanette Paulson. Art farmed and owned and operated the Arendahl Store. He sold Pioneer seed corn and was an agent and board member for Preble Insurance in Lanesboro, MN. In 1986, Art established and operated Brown's Tire in Rushford, which is now owned and operated by his son, Gary. He served on numerous community boards. He was a member of Rushford Lutheran Church. Art was a man with a strong work ethic which he instilled in his children. He loved to visit with people, spending time in the warmer climates and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Art is survived by his wife, Jeanette; four children: Gayle (Dan) Smith, Kathy (Doug) Giorno, Gary (Sarah) Brown, and Pam (Bob) Miller; a brother, Gaylord (Twilah) Brown; eight grandchildren: Katrina Evenson, Daniel Smith, Nick (Stephanie) Giorno, Lee (Kassie) Giorno, Cami (Aaron) Dienger, Jerad (Megan) Brown, Josh Brown, and Katie Miller; and by seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter.
The Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Rushford Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home for all of the wonderful care that they provided for Art over the recent years. They would also prefer memorials directed to the Rushford Lutheran Church or the Arendahl Lutheran Cemetery.
