Arnold H. E. "Orn" Prigge of Lewiston, MNThe funeral service for Arnold "Orn" Prigge will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 14, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lewiston, Minnesota, with pastors David A. Lindemann and M. John Derme officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Lewiston. Mr. Prigge passed away peacefully on Friday, December 10, 2010, at the Lewiston Villa where he had been a resident for the past eight months. He was born on August 15, 1917, in Lincoln, Illinois, to William J. and Emma Lillie (Klein) Prigge and grew up in Lewiston, graduating from Lewiston High School in 1935. He was married to Loretta (Heck) in 1942 and she preceded him in death in 1968. Orn enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1945, having served as a First Lieutenant in Germany, France and Holland, earning the Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon with two bronze stars, American Defense Service Ribbon, and a combat infantry badge. He was a former owner of the Recreation Bar, a turkey farmer for many years, and later was employed as a custodian at Winona State College and Lewiston High School. He was lifelong member and former officer of St. John's Lutheran Church and the American Legion. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed gardening, reading, and following the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Orn is survived by his daughter, Gail (Bob) Sim; two grandchildren, Brad (Laura) Sim, Mishon (Andrew) Bulson; four great grandchildren Lauren, Colin, Drew, Henry; and three step-great-grandchildren Alex, Julia, Eva; one sister Alice (David) Przestwor, Rochester, Minnesota, and one brother, Allen Prigge, Eugene, Oregon. His parents, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Friends may call before the service from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 14, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
