Arlene J. Kohner

Arlene J. Kohner, 80, died Monday, July 7, 2008, at her home in Winona, MN. Arlene was born January 14, 1928, in the village of Blair, WI, to Harris and Evelyn (Engebretson) Hanson. She married Elmer C. Kohner on October 16, 1951, in Rollingstone, MN, where they lived until moving to Red Wing, MN in 1964. In 1973 they moved to Winona where Arlene worked at the Winona County Auditor's office from 1980 to 1990. Elmer preceded Arlene in death on June 2, 2005. Arlene was a member of Central Lutheran Church and its Hannah Circle. Arlene enjoyed sewing, baking, fishing, birds and playing with her grandchildren which also included going to all of her children's and grandchildren's ballgames. Survivors include her four children, Steve (Gwen) Kohner and Cindy Kohner both of Red Wing, MN, Jim (Bev) Kohner of Winona, MN and Dave (Beth) Kohner of Pine Island, MN; grandchildren, Jessica (Wes) Bollingmo, Tim Kohner, Chad (Jessica) Niebeling, Tricia, Anthony, Benjamin, Matt, Michelle, Katie, Melissa and Paul Kohner; great grandchildren, Jordyn Niebeling and Alexandera Bollingmo; and sister, Nancy (Gary) Olson of Blair, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elmer, infant daughter, Barbara, daughter, Peggy, brother, Eugene and two sisters, Helen and LaVone.Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 11, 2008, at 11:00am at Central Lutheran Church with the Reverend Michelle Rem officiating. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Rollingstone, MN.
