Arlen Lyle Hill, 81 of Dakota, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, February 28, 2020.
Arlen was born July 21, 1938 in Dakota to Lester and Edna (Steinfeldt) Hill. On August 21, 1964, he married Dianne Peterman in Winona. Arlen worked as a welder for Trane Company for 39 years. In his retirement, he worked in maintenance at the Dresbach Rest Area and security at Solvay.
He enjoyed watching Westerns, playing slots at the casino, car rides and time spent with his family.
Arlen is survived by his daughters, Pamela (Craig) Dennis of Winona, Kimberly (Jack) Westlund of Houston, TX and Patricia Hill of Duluth; grandchildren, Chandler & Ethan Dennis, Tatiana (Jacob) Davis, Serena (Trenton) Hazeltine, Luis "Kipling" (Shelby) Sanchez and Isabella Westlund; great-grandchildren, Kaman Davis, Lennox Hazeltine and one more on the way; sister, Alvina (Charles) Sichler of Dakota and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Betty (Floyd) Bright; two brothers, Edwin and Irvin (Lorraine); and sister-in-law, Shirley Cisewski.
Memorial Service will be 10 a.m., Friday, March 6, 2020 at Riverside United Methodist Church in Dakota with the Reverend Jef Olson officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday at Hoff Celebration of Life Center - Goodview and one hour prior to the service at church. He will be laid to rest at Bush Cemetery in Ridgeway.
