Anthony "Ike" G. Burns, 70 died Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at Rochester Health Care and Rehabilitation East in Rochester, MN. Anthony was born December 10, 1934 to George and Theckla (Thesing) Burns in Warren Township, Winona. He married Gloria L. Oberg on July 23, 1955 in Lewiston. Following four years in the Navy, he moved to Winona, MN. He lived there until 2000, he retired from Hossfeld Manufacturing Co. where he worked for 40 years, including fifteen years as General Manager. After his retirement, he moved to Rochester. Anthony drove cars for various dealerships in Rochester for two years part-time during his retirement. He enjoyed outdoor activities, including golf, fishing, traveling, and wood working. Anthony enjoyed helping others and spending time with his grandchildren. Anthony "Ike" is survived by his wife Gloria of Rochester, a son Gregory (Debbie) Burns, Minnetrista, MN and a daughter LuAnne (David) Donahue of Rochester, MN, and two grandchildren Anthony and Dustin Donahue of Rochester. He is also survived by four sisters; Rita (Franklin) Norton, Kellogg, MN, Theckla (John) Bauer, LaCrescent, MN, Kathleen (Lawrence) Putzier, St. Charles, MN, Mary (Joseph) Speltz, Winona, MN. Anthony is survived by his six brothers; Timothy (Nell) Burns, Grape Vine, TX, Patrick (Janet) Burns, Lewiston, MN, George (Mary) Burns, Winona, MN, Dennis (Donna) Burns, Lewiston, MN, James (Sue) Burns, Winona, MN, William (Marian) Burns, Winona, MN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Darlene. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. on Friday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Lewiston Chapel and 1 hour before the service at the church. There will be a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church Cemetery, Lewiston with Military Honors.
