Anna "Ann" Mae Strande, 91, of Chatfield, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield. Ann was born July 24, 1921, in Wykoff, to Henry and Mattie (Denning) Dunn. She attended school through the 11th grade. On Oct. 6, 1941, she married Casper Strande. The couple started farming in the Utica area before purchasing a farm in Pilot Mound Township in 1947. The couple retired in 1998 and moved into Chosen Valley Apartments in Chatfield in 2001. Casper passed away April 8, 2006. Ann was a member of Pilot Mound Lutheran Church and belonged to the ladies aid and circle. She enjoyed quilting and flowers. Ann is survived by two sons, Larry (Cheryl) of Rochester, and Gary (Ellen) of Utica; two daughters, Joyce (Pete) Manahan of Greeley, Colo., and Joan Smith of Auburn, Calif.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, a daughter, Judy Johnson, and an infant granddaughter, two brothers and one sister. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 15, at the Pilot Mound Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Ronald and Janet Warnes officiating. Burial will be in the Pilot Mound Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at the Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
