Houston, Minn. - Anna Mae Cook, 93, Houston, died Wednesday, September 23, at her home. She was born November 4, 1915, in Littlefork, Minnesota, to Thomas and Mae (Ritchie) Ohotto. She graduated from Littlefork High School in 1933 and married Cleo Raymond Cook on October 18, 1938. He died in 1952. She was the commercial manager for the Minnesota Telephone Company in International Falls and later managed telephone offices in Blooming Prairie, Mound, and St. Paul. She retired from the telephone business in 1974 to move to Houston and work with her son at Cook Funeral Homes in Rushford and Houston. She continued working at the Hoff Funeral Home until July, 2009. She was famous for her hugs and her cream puffs.She is survived by a son, Duane (Sonja) Cook, Rushford, and daughter, Glenda Jo (Eugene) Tessier, Mahtomedi; 4 grandsons, Tracy (Kim) Cook, Terry Cook, Andre (Chris) Tessier, and Lester (Kari) Mitchell; 2 granddaughters, Annetta (Bill) Albrecht and Leah (Dave) McDowell, all who lovingly called her "Hon"; 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Doris Shattuc, Long Beach, California, and a devoted friend, Rae Evenson, Houston. She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 brothers, and 4 sisters. The family has requested no flowers. Memorials can be directed to Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, Houston, or Franciscan Skemp Hospice, LaCrosse.A service of celebration for Anna Mae's life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, Houston, the Rev. Lane Zaffke officiating, with burial at Rushford Lutheran Cemetery, Rushford. Hoff Funeral Homes - Houston Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
