RUSHFORD, MINN. - Anita D. Lind, 74, of Rushford, died on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at Lake Winona Manor in Winona, Minn. Anita was born on April 18, 1933, in Caledonia, Minn. to Arthur and Nina (Onstad) Schroeder. She was raised in Caledonia. Anita graduated from Caledonia High School in 1951. She attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and graduated from Fairview Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis in 1955. On August 3, 1958, she married Donald Lind in Mabel, Minn. Anita was employed for 42 years as a registered nurse. She worked in Minneapolis, Michigan, and was the first director of nursing at Green Lea Nursing Home in Mabel, Minn. She also worked at the Caledonia Nursing Home and at Community Memorial Hospital in Winona for 26 years. She was a member of the Highland Prairie Lutheran Church and the Rushford School Board. She was the leader of the Norway Go-Getters 4-H Club. Anita enjoyed playing cards with the Rat-Pack from Caledonia. More than anything else, Anita's family is what mattered to her most. She is survived by five children: Kari (Randy) Drinkall, and their children, Josh, Chris, Katy (Michael) Redalen, and Tyler; Susie Lind; Doug (Becky) Lind, and their children, Chellsey, Colby, Lakyn, Danielle, Kjersta, Hans, and Jens; Dave (Karla) Lind and their children, Tori, Zach, Kenzie, and Kobe; and Dan (Erika) Lind and their children, Gabe, Sara, Donnie, and Pierce, all of Rushford; and one brother, Werner Schroeder of Salisbury, Maryland. Anita was preceded in death by her husband and parents. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 18, 2007, at Highland Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Peterson, Minn. with the Rev. Wade Davick officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the Church.
