Anita B. Kittleson

Anita Kittleson, 90, died Sunday, October 23, 2011, at Green Lea Manor in Mabel, MN.Anita was born July 28, 1921, in rural Mabel, MN, to Edward and Matilda (Usgaard) Brenna. She married Gerald H. Kittleson and they lived in the Mabel area where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. They moved to California in 1952 and returned to the Mabel area in 1959. Gerald preceded her in death at the age of 39 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Anita suffered a depilating stroke at the age of 47 that left her partially paralyzed. Even with her physical disability Anita was always able to keep her spirits up, remain positive and made the best out of everyday. Anita had resided in the Valley View Nursing Home, Caledonia Care Center and had been a resident of Green Lea Manor for the past 9 years. Survivors include her five children, Sally (Phil) Petersen of Anamosa, IA, Gloria (Loyal) Friezen of Vacaville, CA, Geri (Steve) Ciarla of Highlands, TX, George (Susan) Kittleson of Caledonia, MN, and Cindy Kittleson of Savage, MN; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and sister, Edna Dahl of Mohall, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gerald, two sisters, Lou and Clara, and brother, Leonard. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 27th, at 11:00am, at the Houston Baptist Church in Houston, MN. Burial will be in Stone Church Cemetery in Houston, MN. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service - Houston from 5-7:00pm and also from 9am until the time of service at the church on Thursday.
