HOUSTON, MINN. - Angeline B. "Angie" Schlegel, 78, of Houston, Minn. passed away on Sunday September 13, 2009, at her home following a short battle with cancer. Angie was born to John and Mary (Winskowski) Rudolph on August 25, 1931, in Saint Anna, Minn. She moved with her family to Harding, Minn. where she was raised. On June 11, 1951, she married James Schlegel in Harding where they farmed for 14 years. Angie and Jim moved to the Houston, Minn. area in the fall of 1965, with their eight children. In time they moved to South Ridge and farmed together where Angie continued to enjoy gardening, sewing, baking, and most of all her loving husband and family. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Houston and the CCW and prayer chain there. Angie is survived by her loving husband, Jim; eight wonderful children: Glen (Becky) Schlegel of Andover, Minn., Mike (Loretta) Schlegel of Showlow, Ariz., Dan Schlegel of Fairibault, Minn., Mary (Bob) Beckman of LaCrescent, Minn., David (Lachell) Schlegel of Sacramento, Cal., Gary Schlegel of Tijeras, NM, Kathy (Dan) Jilk of Cannon Falls, Minn., and Sandra (Dave) Schiltz of Winona, Minn.; 21 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers; five sisters; and many nieces and nephews. Angie was preceded in death by her parents. Angie's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Christensen of Franciscan-Skemp and Franciscan- Skemp Hospice Care. The Funeral Mass for Angie will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 18, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Houston. Burial will be at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Houston. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, at Hoff Funeral Homes - Houston Chapel where there will be a Rosary following the visitation.
