PETERSON, MINN. Andrew John Dammen passed away March 5, 2005 at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center. He was born March 24, 1916 in Holt Township, Filmore County to Carl and Alice (Thompson) Dammen. He was confirmed in Norweign at Elstad Lutheran Church in rural Lanesboro. Andrew graduated from Peterson High School in 1936. He served in the Army during World War II in North Africa and Italy. In 1947, he was married to Signe Overland at Highland Prairie Lutheran Church. Andrew farmed in Highland and Highland Prairie area for 56 years. He is survived by his wife Signe, and one son Phillip (Diane) of Sparta, WI., three grandchildren Tess (Bill) Olson, Sparta, WI, Jens (Tara) Dammen, Dover, MN, Siri (Dustin) Donskey, Sparta, WI., and three great grandchildren Tristan, Trygve, and Owen. He has on surviving sister Lorraine (Carl) Fann, Rushford, MN and sister-in-law Eleanor Dammen, Rushford, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Kari (Everett) Dodd, Lindy (Bob) Callaway, two brothers Hans and Donald Dammen. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2005 at Highland Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Peterson. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.
