WINONA, MN - Andrew Charles Brabbit, 55 of Winona, died on Monday, August 20, 2018, at Gundersen Health System, surrounded by a room full of his loved ones after a tough battle with cancer. Andy was born on September 14,1962, in Fort Atkinson, WI to Lloyd Albert and Jean (Ellis) Brabbit Jr. After attending Preble High School, he lived a short time in Oklahoma before moving to Rushford, MN, where he married the love of his life, Inger whom he married on August 16 , 1982, at Rushford Lutheran Church. They raised four loving children together and dealt with the loss of a daughter who was stillborn. After losing everything in the 2007 flood they moved to Winona MN. Andy worked at Norse Products for a few years, Broms Foundry for almost 20 years, United Machine and foundry for five years, and RTP for the last twelve years. Until he became Ill. Andy was always the life of the party. He had a great sense of humor and would always make people laugh. He loved spending time with his family, and taking trips back to Green Bay, his boyhood town. He enjoyed camping, bike riding, hiking, gardening and swimming with his grandkids in the lake in his back yard. He was also a really good handyman and could fix anything. He was always there to help if anyone needed anything without hesitation. Andy will be truly miss by everyone who knew him. His family is thankful he is no longer suffering or in pain.
Andy is survived by his loving wife of 36years, Inger; his children: Nicole (DeRoyce) Smith, Winona, Dustin Brabbit, Rushford, Kim Brabbit Rushford, and Katie Brabbit of Winona; grandchildren: Shantia, Malijah, Neveah and Arazella; siblings: Marilyn Brabbit Bahn, Minneapolis, MN, Larry (Debbie) Brabbit, Lewiston, MN, Tim Brabbit, Green Bay, WI, Bruce Brabbit, Green Bay, Glenn and (Carol) Brabbit Green Bay, Becky (Cindy Chizek) Brabbit, Green Bay, MN, Eric Brabbit of Winona, Jeff Brabbit of Green Bay.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd Albert Brabbit and Jean Brabbit and a daughter Katrina Rose.
Our family would like also like to thank the surgical department, and oncology department and a special thank you to Verona Lockman and everyone of Gundersen Lutheran Health and the TPN team for taking good care of Andy.
There will be a celebration of Andy's wonderful life on Friday August 24th at 1:00 pm
at Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford. Following the service there will be a brunch at Stumpys in Rushford at 2:00 pm.
