Amelia Joanne Speltz, 20 of Altura, died Thursday, March 15, 2018 as the result of a motor vehicle accident near Stewartville.
Amelia was born April 3, 1997 in Rochester to Rick J. and Michele Speltz. She graduated from Lewiston-Altura High School in 2015 and was currently attending Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, ND. She loved children and worked at Cardinal Club in Lewiston, Friendship Place in Rochester, was a nanny for several families in Rochester and volunteered for many years at youth camps at Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch in Stewartville.
Amelia was a child of God and made it her goal to spread the gospel to people who didn't know the Lord. She was very passionate about her faith and wanted others to give their life to Christ. Her desire was to show that salvation and eternal life comes through accepting that Jesus Christ is Lord. Amelia loved life, traveling, nature and children.
She went on a mission trip to Cuba and the Dominican Republic and the day before she died, had returned from a mission trip in Egypt.
Amelia will be forever loved and missed by her parents, Rick J. and Michele Speltz of Altura; three brothers, Hilman (Angela) Speltz of Lewiston, Cedric (Katelyn) Speltz of Winooski, VT and Tucker (Lydia Bardwell) of Rochester; one sister, Jeanette Speltz of Altura; niece, Payson Speltz; nephew, Easton Speltz; her boyfriend, David Steeves of Winnipeg, Canada; maternal grandfather, Tony (Cindy Twiggs) Speltz; paternal grandmother, Mary C. Speltz; aunts and uncles, Deb (Mark) Trcka, Nicole (Charlie) Mitchell, Ron (Linda) Speltz, Randy (Pam) Speltz and Robert (Val) Speltz; godmother, Kathleen Cummings and godfather, Eric Speltz and many cousins and close friends.
Amelia was preceded in death by her nephew, Vinson Anthony Speltz (son of Hilman & Angela); maternal grandmother, Joanne Emily Speltz and maternal grandfather, Cyril Speltz.
Memorial Service will be 1 p.m., Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Chapel at Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch, 7291 CR 6 SW, Stewartville, MN 55976. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m., Sunday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 180 S Fremont Street, Lewiston, MN 55952 and one hour prior to the service at Ironwood Springs.
