Amelia Fischer

Amelia "Molly" Fischer, 93, of Lewiston died Thursday April 13, 2006 at Winona Community Memorial Hospital. Molly was born January 9, 1913 in Norton Township of Winona County to William and Anna (Prigge) Dorn. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Silo. On November 29, 1934 Molly and Alvin W. Fischer were married at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Winona by Rev. Sauer. They worked for Lewiston Dairy for six years, before moving to the Fischer farm. Alvin passed away June 3, 1951. Molly's hobby was flowers, there were always flowers blooming at her home. She worked for Etta Del Nursing Home in Lewiston then for Rush Products of Lewiston before working as a home care nurse for Winona County until her retirement. Following retirement Molly was a volunteer driver for S.E.M.C.A.C.. She also had a foster license for many years. She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Lewiston and was of the eight co-founders of St. John's Dorcas Society. Molly was also a member of the Lewiston Village Study Group and Winona County Old Settlers. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved them all dearly. Also dear to her were her nieces and nephews. Survivors include her two children Richard (Kathy Boone) Fischer of Lewiston and Kathleen (Brach) Seitz of Buffalo City, WI, 8 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law Donald Fischer of Tampa, Florida and a special friend Barbara Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother and sister. Funeral Services will be 11AM Wednesday at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Lewiston with the Revs. David A. Fischer and Michael A. Lindemann officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Tuesday at Hoff Funeral Home's - Lewiston Chapel. They may also call one hour before services at the church. Pallbearers will be her eight grandchildren, Scott Fischer, Kristi Hagan, Terri Hall, Tom Fischer, Kendra Dascher, Tom Fetting, Devon Seitz and Shane Seitz. Honorary pallbearers will be Kent Erdman, David Brand, Leo Miller, Larry Gudmundson, Sandy Henry, Bud Bracket and Richard Oldham. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being arranged.
