Alyce M. Schultz, 90, of St. Charles died Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Hospitals - St. Mary's Campus Rochester. Alyce was born September 17, 1928 in Altura to Arthur and Minnie (Brehmer) Loppnow, growing up on the family farm in rural Minnieska. She worked for Rialto Theatre and was a waitress at Ann's café in St. Charles. Alyce and Edwin Schultz were married June 14, 1951 in Preston. They made their home in St. Charles. Where Alyce and Ed owned the Northside Store, as well thrift shop. She had also provided day care.
Alyce was a religious person, belonging to Berea Moravian Church in rural St. Charles. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and playing bingo. Alyce had a sharp mind until her death. She enjoyed winning at memory games while a resident of Whitewater Health Services in St. Charles.
Survivors include her five children; Jerry (Nancy) Schultz of St. Charles, Lonnie (Kelli) Schultz of Utica, Sonia (Paul) Daywitt of Wellington, CO, Pat (Owen) Rainey of Utica and Pamela Keith of Aurora, CO, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin in 2000, siblings; Alton Loppnow, Evelyn Haake, Ruby Sebo and Phyllils Uthke.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Hoff Funeral Service in St. Charles with the Reverend Frank Jones of Berea Moravian Church officiating. Burial will be in Berea Moravian Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be on Friday from 1 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
