Alvina Mary Diderrich

Alvina Mary Diderrich, 97, of St. Charles died Saturday evening September 6, 2008 at Golden Living Center - Whitewater in St. Charles. Alvina was born December 20, 1910 in Oak Ridge of Winona County to Matthew and Anna (Haines) Frisch. She and Arnold Diderrich were married May 12, 1936 at Oak Ridge. They farmed north of St. Charles, where Alvina was a farm homemaker. She enjoyed preparing meals for her family; trying new recipes, baking, sewing, growing flowers, gardening, canning and quilting. Alvina was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Survivors include two children Ardena (Don) Feils of Forrest Lake, MN and David (Dorothy) Diderrich of Pine Island, a son-in-law William Hynes of Lincoln, CA, eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold on December 28, 1998 also by her daughter Joanne Hynes and three brothers and one sister. A Funeral Mass will be 11AM Thursday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with The Reverend James Callahan officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 5- 7 PM Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles. They may also call one hour before services at the church.
