LEWISTONAlvin August Fabian of Lewiston, died peacefully at Lake Winona Manor on Saturday, October 19, 2013.Alvin was born June 29, 1934 to August and Edith (Grant) Fabian. He attended Lewiston Schools and served in the United States Army 26th Artillery 182nd Airborne as a sharp shooter during the Lebanon Crisis. Alvin worked for Madison Silo for 40 years and later as a truck driver for Elgin Milk Service. He was a member of American Legion Post 90 and the Lewiston Sportsmen's Club. Alvin enjoyed the outdoors and conversations with many of his closest friends.He is survived by his sister, Geneva Karsten of Bloomington along with nieces Ruth Ann Kessler, Patricia Lloyd, and Deb Clark, as well as nephews Jim Karsten and Corey Fabian. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kermit, Edward, Elmer, and Sister-in-law Rosie Fabian.Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewiston with visitation one hour prior. Reverend Michael A. Lindemann will officiate. Burial will follow at Lewiston Public Cemetery with full military honors provided by the American Legion Post 90.In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Lewiston Ambulance and American Legion Post 90.
