Allene M. Shattuck

Allene "Nickie" Shattuck, 83, of Winona and formerly of Utica, MN, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2006 at Winona Community Memorial Hospital in Winona, MN. Nickie was born July 26, 1922 in Chatfield, MN to Robert and Nelva (Davis) Nichols. She graduated from Chatfield High School and served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WWII. Nickie received the American Campaign, Good Conduct and WWII Victory Medals. Nickie married Curtis Shattuck of Utica, MN in 1947. He preceded her in death in 1990. Together they owned and operated Shattuck's Liquor Store in Utica for over 30 years. Nickie was a devoted mother, grandmother and great ? grandmother.Survivors include her dear companion, Gale Pederson of Winona with whom she spent the last 10 years fishing, traveling and visiting; two sons, Irwin of Westby, WI and Robert (Peggy) of Winona, MN; two daughters, Mary (Jeff) Massie of Park Rapids, MN and Susie (Larry) Montgomery of Leesburg, FL; son ? in ? law, Les (Donna) Trapp of Brainerd, MN; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Nicholas and Curtis Shattuck, Meggan, Massie, Tyler and Kelli Montgomery and Katie Shattuck, great ? grandson, Charlie Schleifer; two sisters, Twyla Hugget and Jean Krause both of Mound, MN; and one brother, Bud Nichols of Chatfield, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Curt, daughter, Peggy Trapp, granddaughter, Stephanie Trapp, sister, Donna Huff and brother, Curtis Nichols.
