Allan Pruka

Allan Eugene Pruka, 83, of Winona died Thursday, October 03, 2019 at Lake Winona Manor. Allan was born on January 7, 1936 in Winona to Stanley Sr. and Lillian Pruka. He grew up around Houston learning to drive truck from the age of 16. He met Joan Frauenkron through friends and family. The two began dating and were married on January 6, 1961 at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston. The family of two began to grow as they had three boys, Mark, Corey, and Robert. Allan loved to drive truck and worked for Winona Dray Line, Gateway Transportation, Lawrence Transportation, and Riverland Trucking. In his free time he loved to take his family camping to enjoy the outdoors. He was a farmer at heart and always kept a garden and loved to watch it grow.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joan; children, Mark (Susan Nelson) Pruka, Corey (Jeanette) Pruka, Robert (Sandi) Pruka; grandchildren, Elijah Pruka, Brianna Mertes, Sarah Pruka, Christopher Mertes; 1 great-grandson, Myles; siblings, Robert, Beverly, Stanley, Alice, Richard, William, Rose; "adopted daughter", Kristi (Chad) Brandes and their children, Nate and Arlayna. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Sean Osterman; siblings, Viola, Arlene, Wayne.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2019 with visitation starting at 10 a.m., at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview. Burial to follow at Money Creek Cemetery. Please leave a memory of Allan at hofffuneral.com
