RUSHFORD, MINN. - Allan J. Betten, 69, of Rushford died on Friday, July 20, 2007, at his home. Allan was born on December 18, 1937, in Rushford to Emil and Agnes (Woxland) Betten. He was raised in rural Rushford on the family farm. He was a 1956, graduate of Rushford High School. On April 28, 1973, he married Diane Steffen. Allan farmed on the home farm until 2004, when he moved to the Good Shepherd Apartments in Rushford. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Rushford. Allan was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He enjoyed going out for Friday night fish, and spending time with family, friends and neighbors. Allan is survived by one daughter, Paula Betten of Caledonia; one sister, Edith (Wallace) Ihns of Lime Springs, Iowa; one nephew, Walter Ihns; three nieces: Kathy (Lavern) Lansing, Karla Ihns, and Kay Ihns; three great-nieces, two great-great nieces, and one great-great-nephew; one brother-in-law, David (Mary) Steffen, one sister-in-law, Judy Applewhite; a special relative, Rev. Earl (Darlene) Steffen, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel. Burial will be in the Oak Grove City Cemetery in Rushford. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
