St. Charles, Alice May Robinson, 88, of St. Charles died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Golden Living Center in St. Charles. Alice was born September 8, 1923 in Red Wing to Charles and Grace (Wynn) Haynes. From 1926-1938 Alice lived at the State Public School in Owatonna. She married Arthur Bruce on June 17, 1946. They had a son, Larry Dean. She and Arthur were later divorced. Alice and Jay Robinson were married on July 27, 1984. Alice was a waitress and bartender in the Rochester area from 1947 to 1984, when she retired. Jay died in June of 2004. She belonged to the St. Charles American Legion Auxiliary and St. Charles Homemakers. Survivors include step-children-Mary Lou Robinson (John Taylor) of Albertville, MN and Grant (Diane) Robinson of Luverne, MN, two step-grandchildren, a step-sister Mrs. James (Lois) Anderson of Reistertown, MD. She was preceded in death by her husband Jay, a sister and two brothers. Services to Celebrate Alice's Life will be 7PM Friday, December 9, 2011 at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles with the Reverend Heather E. Klason of the St. Charles United Methodist Church officiating. Burial of Alice's cremated body will be at the Mazeppa Cemetery at a later date.
