Alice L. Lerol

HOFF FUNERAL HOMES - RUSHFORD CHAPEL 507-864-7771 RUSHFORD, MINN. - Alice L. Lerol formerly of Rushford, Minn. died on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at her apartment in Caledonia, Minnesota. Alice was born on December 26, 1916, to Oscar and Sadie (Vickerman) Nordsving in Amherst Township of Fillmore County, Minnesota. On May 1, 1937, she married Benard Lerol. They were happily married for seventy years. They both were fond of music. The couple moved to a farm in Amherst Township, where they lived and worked together on the same farm for 62 years. She was a homemaker and a very helpful mate on the farm. Alice was a member of the Elstad, Whalan and Highland Lutheran Churches. Alice is survived by her two daughters: Beverly Aasum of Caledonia, Minn. and Rochelle (Orrin) Hegg of Brea, California; six grandchildren: Susan (Lyle) Klug, Peter Erickson, Arlene Francois, David Erickson, Robin Russo, and Michelle (Kevin) Francois; five great-grandchildren: Angie Welscher, Drew Klug, Ashton Russo, Haley Russo, and Colin Francois; four great-great-grandchildren: Taylor Welscher, Olivia Welscher, Eliza Welscher, and Eric Welscher; one sister, Orris McIlwain of Beloit, Wisconsin; one sister-in-law, June Lerol of Farmington, Minn.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four brothers: Adolph, Cyrus, Ernest and Clifford Nordsving; one sister, Benita Bukoskie; and one son-in-law, Sidney Aasum. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The funeral service for Alice will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at the First Lutheran Church of Highland in Highland, Minn. with the Rev. Roger Knudson and the Rev. Steve Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
