Alice Amanda Storm

St. Charles, MN Alice Storm, 86, of St. Charles died Friday, February 21 in Fort Myers, FL due to complications from a car accident. Alice was born May 17, 1927 in Eyota, MN to Rudolph and Amanda (Otto) Franke. She graduated from Eyota High School in 1945 and from Winona State Teachers College in 1947. On April 3, 1949 Alice and Arnold Storm were married in St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Winona. They farmed for many years just outside of Dover and they spent their winters in Florida since 1980. Arnold died December 31, 2008. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Family was most important to her. She shared many family traditions and had a great spirit for life. Alice and Arnold were members of the Whitewater Whirlers Square Dance Club and Purple Foot Wine Club. She belonged to St. Matthew Lutheran Church in St. Charles and Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Myers. Alice had been active as a 4-H Leader, a Cub Scout den mother and as a room mother/ parent volunteer for her children's classroom parties. In addition to being a devoted farm wife, she began teaching at Spring Grove country school. She then later worked at Rush Products in Lewiston and H&R Block in Rochester, Plainview and Bonita Springs, FL. In later years, she enjoyed reading, walking, gardening, and traveling. Survivors include her nine children; Rev. Harold (Laura) Storm of Gaylord, MN, Rudolph Storm; David (Linda) Storm; Jacob (LuAnn) Storm all of Dover; Bradley (Cathy) Storm of Bettles Field, AK; Craig (Mary Ellen) Storm of Westby, WI; Larry (Mitzi) Storm of Winnemucca, NV; Tammi (Paul) Schweitzer of Estero, FL and NolaKay (Jim) Williamson of River Falls, WI; 22 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and her brother Clarence (Janet) Franke of Eyota, MN. In addition to her husband, Alice was preceded in death by her parents Rudolph and Amanda (Otto) Franke. Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with the Rev. Samuel Morsching officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Dover, MN. Friends may call from 4-8pm Thursday at Hoff Funeral Service in St. Charles. They may also call one hour before services on Friday at the church.
