Alfred Fabian

Winona, MNAlfred Fabian, 90, died Saturday, December 20, 2003 at the Sauer Memorial Home in Winona, MN. Alfred was born April 26, 1913 in Hart Township, Winona County, MN to Carl and Lena (Olson) Fabian. On June 1, 1939 he married Evelyn Pagel in St. Charles, MN. Alfred graduated from Fremont School and moved from the Fremont area to St. Charles, MN in 1929 where he farmed until moving to a farm in the Ridgeway area in 1954. He also worked at the feed mill in Ridgeway for 15 years. In 1970 he began working as the custodian at Ridgeway School where he worked for 10 years until retiring and moving to Winona in 1979. Alfred was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pickwick, MN.Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; two sons, James (Judy) of Caledonia, MN and Mark (Deb) of Marshall, MN; seven grandchildren, Heath, Lucas, Jenny, Jason and Ben Fabian, Angela Klein and Sarah Skalitzky; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Hannah Spitzer of St. Charles; and sister-in-law, Ilene Fabian. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Emil and sister, Thelma.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at 11:00am at St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pickwick with the Reverend Galen Riediger officiating. Burial will be in the Bush Cemetery. Friends may call at Hoff Funeral Homes ? Lewiston Chapel on Monday from 5-8:00pm and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
