RUSHFORD, MINN. ? Alette Geneva Dahl was called home to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 20, 2005 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Winona. She was born on August 18, 1905 on Bridge Creek, (Bratsberg area) to Carl and Inga (Christiansen) Howe. She married Henry Dahl on April 6, 1932 at the Highland Prairie Church Parsonage.She was a member of the Highland Prairie Lutheran Church and its women's circles.Alette attended Bridge Creek School, was a housewife and enjoyed working on the farm with her husband. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning and caring for her family. Alette was a gentle, kind person and had a special way with animals. She loved it when her family visited and especially enjoyed hugging her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Amongst her favorite things to do, she enjoyed quilting at the church and crocheting afghans for her children and grandchildren. She crocheted countless snowflakes and sent them to her family and friends at Christmas.She is survived by her daughter Donna Oates (Whitehall WI), sons Eldon (Jeanette) Dahl and Jerry (Joyce) Dahl both of Rushford, her grandchildren; Debra Oates, Dawn (Dave) Hegge, Douglas (Connie) Oates, Denise (Chris) Corrigan, Jennifer Dahl, Allison (Matt) Bauer, Janel (Tom) Crawford, Jonathan (Cori) Dahl, Jamie (Scott) Ballowe, Jason (Molly) Dahl, Joshua Dahl and Laura (Andrew) Severson and great grandchildren; Aschley & Meghan Hegge, Laura, Julie and Daniel Oates, Ian Corrigan, Kelsy, Kendra & Mikayla Crawford, Jake Miranda and Caleb Ballowe, Noah, Dawson & Elizabeth Dahl and Treston Severson.Alette was preceded in death by her husband Henry (June 6, 1979), sister Anna Marie, brothers Harry, Arthur, Gynther, Edward, Walter and Roy Howe and son-in-law Daryl Oates. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22 at the Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford and 1 hour prior to the service which will be held on Wednesday, February 23 at 11:00 a.m. at the Highland Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Peterson. Pastor Wade Davick will be presiding and burial will be in the Highland Prairie Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Highland Prairie Sunday School.
