Haedtke, 42, of Dakota, Minn. died on Thursday, June 2, following injuries he received on his way to work as a result of his motorcycle colliding with a deer. Al was born on October 31, 1968, in Winona, Minn. to Donald and Judith (Teske) Haedtke. He grew up in Trempealeau, Wis. and graduated from Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School in 1988. He also graduated from Western Wisconsin Technical College in La Crosse, Wis. as a Diesel Mechanic. On April 29, 1991, Al married his soul mate, Chris Jeffers. He worked for Pepsi as a vending machine repair technician. Al and Chris moved from Trempealeau to the rural Dakota, Minn. area seven years ago. In his spare time Al enjoyed riding his motorcycle, drive-in movies, fabricating custom vehicles, and showing off his cars at Rudy's Drive-in. Al is survived by his wife, Chris; mother, Judith Haedtke of Harlingen, Texas; brother, Donn (Kathy) Haedtke of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; two sisters: Jan "Buff" (Mike) Swanson of Byron, Minn., and Wendy (Eric) Denzer of Winona; maternal grandfather, Francis Teske of Dodge, Wis.; and by many nieces and nephews, and other loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents, Carl and Lillian Haedtke; maternal grandmother, F. Jan Teske; and by a nephew, Thaddeus Denzer. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 6, at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service - Hansen Goodview Chapel where there will be a 7:00 p.m. celebration of life service for Al.
