HARMONY, MINN. - Adelaide L. Evenson, 94, formerly of Harmony, Minn. died on Sunday, July 5, 2009, at the Valley View Healthcare and Rehab Center in Houston, Minn. Adelaide was born on September 21, 1914, in Waverly, Iowa to William and Emma (Oltregge) Moesenthin. She moved with her family as a small child to Virginia, Minn. where she graduated from Virginia High School. On September 7, 1941, she married Ronald K. Evenson. Adelaide and Ron lived in many places in the Upper Midwest, including living in Harmony, Minn. for thirty years until 2000. She enjoyed cooking, baking, bowling, playing bridge and yahtzee, gardening, dancing, and was an expert at solving cross-word puzzles. Adelaide's family was the center of her life. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by three sons: Ron (Rae) Evenson of Houston, Minn., Tom (Kay) Evenson of LaCrosse, Wis., and Bill Evenson of Waseca, Minn.; two daughters: Sandra Evenson of Minneapolis, Minn., and Cathy (Greg) Applen of Surprise, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two special nieces: Bonnie (Jack) Schneider of Mohtomedi, Minn., and Wendy Priest of Kalamazoo, Mich. Adelaide was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and one sisters. Adelaide's family is planning a memorial service for her in the fall of this year.
