Addison R. Ehlers

Addison R. "Sonny" Ehlers, 87, died Thursday, September 3, 2009, at his home in Bluff Siding, WI. Sonny was born September 26, 1921, in Winona, MN, to John and Lillian (Rihs) Ehlers. Sonny married Joyce Bublitz in 1943. They were later divorced. He served in the U.S. Army 8th Airborne Division during WWII. Sonny married Lillian Henry in 1993. Sonny worked for Federal Bakery for 39 years. He was a very likable and friendly guy who enjoyed being with friends and hunting buddies goose and duck hunting, and fishing. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Winona, American Legion Post 9, and the AMVETS. Survivors include his wife, Lillian; daughters, Jan Wright of Mosinee, WI, Julie (Ron) Wood of Mosinee, WI, and Wendy (Paul) Schneider of Winona, MN; step-children, Curtis (Sherry) Wilkerson of Lawton, OK, and Lisa (Matt) Grave of Redwood Falls, MN; six grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and four step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and aunt, Evelyn Rihs.A celebration of Sonny's life will be held Wednesday, September 9th, at 1:00pm at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Goodview Chapel with funeral celebrant Douglas Hansen officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
