Adam M. Wencl, age 24, of Winona, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.
Adam, born on July 1, 1994, was the son of Michael and Linda (Meinen) Wencl.
He attended Winona Area Public Schools and graduated from Winona Senior High in 2012. Adam worked as a chef at various restaurants and worked at various production companies, most recently with RTP in Winona.
Adam was an outstanding musician, with a natural ability to play both the acoustic and electric guitars. He composed much of his own music and his lyrics were written from deep within his heart. He could play back any song of many popular rock bands without sheet music. One of his most heartwarming songs was his rendition of Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues. He participated in the Winona Middle School and Senior High talent shows and always brought the crowd to a roaring applause. He also loved to cook, often creating many of his own recipes.
Adam's biggest love was his family and his concern and love for those around him was always evident. He never forgot the special days, like birthdays and holidays, and when he couldn't be present, he would call or send letters.
Adam is survived by his parents; younger brother, Eric; grandmother, Carolyn Meinen; grandparents, Betty and Charles Wencl; aunts and uncles, Kathy (Rich) Crusing, Diane (Wayne) Messman, Randy (Carol) Meinen, Steven (Tamera) Wencl, Tom (Doreen) Wencl; and cousins, Chris, Kevin, Stephanie, Ashley, Kelsey, Jordan, Nicole, Stephanie, Jessica, Garrett, Jackie, Mark, Trent and Angelica.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roger Meinen; great-grandmother, Libby Wencl; and great-grandfather Michael Fink.
