Robert LeVerne Johnson, 74 of Winona, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at his home.
Bob was born April 26, 1944 in San Francisco, CA to Charles and Lois (Nehring) Johnson. He graduated from Red Wing High School, moved to Winona and attended Winona State University. He served in the United States Army in Korea and Japan and then returned to Winona to finish school. Bob married Lola Olson on December 4, 1976. He worked at Bay State Milling for 34 years until his retirement in 2010.
Bob enjoyed watching and reading Westerns, watching the Minnesota Vikings, playing cards and telling jokes.
He is survived by his wife, Lola; son, Joshua Johnson of Winona; daughter, Brianna Johnson of Winona; brothers, Larry (Nancy) Johnson of Red Wing, Kenneth (Carol) Johnson of Brooklyn Park and Steven Johnson of Red Wing; sister, Susan (Randy) McLaughlin of Red Wing; sister-in-law, Jan Johnson of Arizona and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jim Johnson.
Private family services will be held.
Memorials are preferred to the Winona Area Humane Society or VFW Post 1287 Relief Fund.
