ST. CHARLES, MINN: Darlene K. Miller, 79 died peacefully at Golden Living Center, Whitewater, St. Charles, MN on Sunday, May 21, 2017. Darlene Kay Fix was born March 15, 1938 to Albert and Buelah (Marks) Fix in St. Charles, MN. She graduated from St. Charles High School in 1956. After graduation, Darlene worked at Mayo Clinic in the Radiology Department. She married James E. Miller on May 31, 1958. Most of her life, Darlene was a homemaker who raised their children and helped with the family farm. Over the years, she worked at Camera Art in Lewiston, MN, Hegseth's Food Store, St. Charles, MN and cleaned houses in Rochester, MN. Darlene wrote a column for the St. Charles Press. She spent many hours each week on the phone collecting information about friends and neighbor's celebrations and everyday visits. Darlene was an active member of both the St. Charles and Dover United Methodist Churches. She was a proud member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary. Darlene was a member of the Dover Homemaker's Group. She loved to play cards at home and at the St. Charles Senior Center; or any where or any time. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family, friends and neighbors. In retirement, Darlene volunteered at St. Charles Senior Center and Golden Living Center - Whitewater in St. Charles. Her greatest joy was being on the family farm with her family. Darlene is survived by her husband James Miller, St. Charles, MN; her two sons, Larry (Debra) Miller, Plainview, MN and Garry (Brenda) Miller, Rossville, IL; four grandchildren, Jeffrey (Melinda) Miller, Laura Miller, Brittany (Tyler Robinson) Miller, Aaron Miller; three great grandchildren, Avery, Maya, and Austyn. She was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, uncles and cousins. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Dover Community Church (UMC). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service, St. Charles, MN and one hour before the service at the church.
