Beverly Ann Krause

LEWISTON, MN - Beverly Ann Krause, age 79, of Lewiston, MN died on Monday, June 6, 2016, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare, Winona.

Beverly was born August 10, 1936, in Blair, Wisconsin to Thomas and Gena (Anderson) Brekke. She moved to Winona with her family in 1944. She graduated from Winona Senior High in 1955. She worked at Merchant's National Bank in Winona before she married.

Beverly enjoyed going to dances with her sisters when she was younger and met her husband Curtis at a dance in Winona. Beverly married Curtis Krause on August 16, 1958 and lived in rural St. Charles. They moved to rural Lewiston in 1991. She farmed along side her husband and son, helping mostly with the pig operation and bookkeeping. She was active with St. Charles Faith Lutheran Women's Circle. She enjoyed spending time with her brothers and sisters and their spouses, especially playing cards.

Beverly enjoyed hosting holiday gatherings and card parties at her home, and one could always count on her famous potato salad and, if lucky, some homemade lefse'. She enjoyed the outdoors and always had beautiful flower gardens. If she would touch something, it would bloom.

Beverly also enjoyed traveling with her husband and family members and took numerous bus trips. Some of her favorites were New Orleans, Branson, and a cruise to the Bahamas.

Spending time with her family gave Beverly the most pleasure in life. Her grandchildren were the apples of her eye and her deep love and affection for all of those she touched will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her husband, Curtis, Lewiston; two children, Mike (Janet) Krause of St. Charles, and Kathy (Fess) Foster of Whitehall, MT; 3 grandchildren, Nick McElmury, Benjamin Krause, and Emma Krause; one great granddaughter, Lorayna; three sisters, Ila Johnson, Minnesota City, MN; Lorraine Gunner , Winona, and Gloria Brekke, Winona.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Wayne Anderson Sr, Thomas Brekke, Merlin Brekke and infant brother Robert; and a sister Adeline Martinovich.

There will be a funeral service for Beverly at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles.
